About DJ Si Barry
Simon first stepped up to the decks in the early days of rave culture. He honed his skills as a DJ on vinyl, working on 3 decks and quickly earning himself a residency at super club 'Club UK' playing alongside legends like Carl Cox, Josh Wink and Danny Rampling and guest DJ'ing at seminal clubs including Ministry of Sound and the Leisure Lounge.
His mixing skills were spotted by Strongroom Studios - home to the Prodigy, Orbital and The Chemical Brothers - where he was taken in as a producer of their newly formed dance label 'Strongroom Records'. In spite of this success and having reached the era's peak in the late 90's, Simon left the scene to help develop another movement, this time the UK's natural, sustainable and organic industry, where he helped build Europe's largest trade event for this sector.
Hands up for a revival...
Thankfully in the last three years Simon has been inspired to take to the decks again albeit with new technology and a whole new approach. Skills like his, with experience from the original rave scene are all too rare these days. He's updated his style making the most of new tools but managed to keep the underground energy of the old school alive. Remixing big beats, classic vocal cuts and thumping basslines his sets are fresh, unique and full of energy- guaranteed to make the crowd go wild!
If you remember the old school , he'll take you back. If you don't, you'll see what all the fuss was about.
